Eastern Influence in Malibu

Martyn Lawrence Bullard’s latest project featured in Elle Décor, transforms a traditional Malibu home into a beautiful Global Oasis. Martyn is no stranger to MIX . He never ceases to amaze us with his inspirational design concepts derived from Eastern influences.  Martyn included numerous pieces from Design MIX Furniture’s showrooms on La Brea Ave. to help complete the tranquil look.

A Balinese style pavilion displays various lighting options that can be found at MIX which includes hanging lanterns and metal-work floor and tabletop lanterns that help set the mood.  To add interest and color, Martyn included exotic imported fabrics.

MLB Design cleverly revamped an authentic Indian carved architectural façade, also available and imported by Design MIX Furniture, into a stunning master bathroom archway that takes you to another land.  Glass Hundi lanterns and fascinating African objects such as the Asante stools blend together to shape a tranquil place in time.

Another area of this stunning home that includes items from MIX is the master bedroom.  By disassembling a 200-year-old architectural archway, adding bedpost and a pedestal, Martyn created a breathtaking, one of a kind bed.

Our design team is fortunate enough to be inspired by some of the greatest designers in Los Angeles and we would love to help you turn your dream home into reality. Please stop by our two showrooms, send us an email, or browse our website- we look forward to being apart of your next big project!
